How AI tagging works

What the AI tags on each creative, when it runs, what is sent to Google, and what it never does.

Every creative that spent recently gets AI tags: a short, fixed description of what the ad is, so you can group, filter and compare your creatives by what they show and say instead of by their names.

Who is tagged

From Tuesday 6 October 2026, every workspace on Standard or in its free trial, with a connected Meta ad account, is tagged. Free workspaces are not.

An owner who does not want AI tagging writes to support@creativity.run from the owner's address, and tagging stays off for that workspace. Disconnecting Meta stops it as well.

When it runs

Tagging runs every night at 06:53 UTC (07:53 in Tunis), after the night's data is in:

  • only creatives that spent in the last 90 days are tagged;
  • up to 25 creatives per workspace each night, so a large account takes a few nights to be fully tagged;
  • each creative is tagged once. The creatives with the most recent delivery go first, and a video waits until Creativity has stored its file.

Tagging uses your plan's monthly AI allowance. If the allowance is used up, tagging pauses until the next month.

What a tag is

Each creative is described across eight dimensions: asset, visual format, angle, hook, audience, season, offer and register. Every value comes from a fixed vocabulary of 213 values. The AI proposes the tags; the vocabulary validates them, so two people never see two spellings of the same tag, and a proposal the AI is not confident about (under 0.90) is dropped rather than shown.

A video's speech is also transcribed from its audio track.

Where tags show

  • Home: the tag chips on your creatives.
  • Reports: group by an AI tag (Hook, Angle, Visual format and the rest), filter by tags, and open the AI tags breakdown. Grouping uses each creative's first tag in that dimension; a tag filter matches a creative by any of its tags.
  • Creative Insights: the AI tags card and the Transcript tab of any creative.

A creative not tagged yet shows no tag, never a guess.

What is sent, and to whom

Your own ads' video (with its audio), image and copy are sent to Google's Gemini API, on its paid tier. A video is uploaded for the call and deleted right after it; Google deletes any upload within 48 hours regardless. Under Google's paid-tier terms your files are not used to improve Google's products. The details are in the Privacy Policy.

What it never does

  • It never changes, pauses or publishes an ad: Creativity is read-only on Meta.
  • It never computes a number. Spend, results and Friday Scores come from your synced metrics; tags only describe the creative.
  • It never sends your ad comments or your store's orders to the AI.
